The ACESA Project

The Brazilian project ACESA (Atelier Comunitário Eco-Social de Arte e Brincar) is providing knowledge and skills with the involvement of more than 200 volunteers and literally going up the hill to meet beneficiaries through art and playing, bringing transformation, dialogue, and knowledge to underserved communities where it works.

The founder of the project, Charlotte Kaschner believes in the idea of a ludic artistic therapy. After 21 years of practicing and treating in Rio de Janeiro, she discovered the applicability of playfulness in art and learning in the formation and well-being of integral human beings. This dialogue started in 2014 when ACESA started taking these artistic and therapeutic workshops to children and adults living in the underserved community of Vidigal.

With the success obtained, Charlotte decided to systematize and invite people who wish to be creative and co-creators in this new profession, that of the “Playing Artist”, committed to this idea and applying it to their surroundings.

A virtual journey with professionals in the health, artistic, medical fields, among others, will take place during the week of March 21-28 2021, with a view to promoting solidarity campaigns, which will result in the formation of ACESA workshops as spaces for educational and therapeutic experiences in communities. This initiative aims to bring transformation and hope to the coming generations, reaching more than 130 thousand people from communities of  Rio de Janeiro, and arousing growing interest in others

The Kay Project in Haiti.

The KAY PROJECT has been designed to create an arts and library center where children can develop their creativity through painting, reading, and researching.

The goal is to build a viable and super functional building that Educates, Encourages, and Empowers the students at École du Village, which will empower the Île-à-Vache community.
