Traveling Artists

Atelier without Borders programs rest on Artists Empowerment, Youth Leadership and Entrepreneurship in Arts and Crafts, and Cultural Exchanges. “Traveling Artist” aims to encourage and promote the artistic and cultural exchange between artists of various nationalities, thus enabling the dissemination of their influences and roots through their expressions and cultural baggage. The project solidified partnerships in Miami where it is based, Brazil and Haiti and has a team that counts on sociologists, art therapists, and art curators. Thanks to the help of established Brazilian artists, our project is able to offer free exhibiting walls to emerging artists in international art fairs.

David+Boyer

“My participation at the Miami Art Week enabled me to observe new trends and techniques being used in the contemporary art world today. It is a great experience to meet and exchange with fellow artists from around the world and discover new sources of inspiration”.

David Boyer had the opportunity to exhibit his artwork during Miami Art Week receiving high acclaim and emerging as one of the favorites of the Brazilian pavilion at the Miami River Art Fair 2017. This opportunity enabled David Boyer to present his work, but also to see the trends within the contemporary art scene from diverse origins at different expositions. Atelier Without Borders believes in celebrating Haitian culture for its unique vibrancy and for using novel techniques such as the repurposing of materials. While in Miami, David Boyer not only visited expositions, but also hosted a recycling art workshop with the children of Little Haiti at the Morningside Elementary School.

About.

Nata Familia is a stencil collective from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The group began their career in 2008. In 2014 the collective had a more consolidated work, producing stencils of several layers and on a larger scale (two meters on average). In 2017 the stencil layer technique was abandoned and today Nata presents a strong visual identity, with black and white stencils, blending realism with line and square abstractions.

Their cause.

Nata Familia has started a new project in Favela da Maré, one of the poorest and most violent places in Rio de Janeiro, developing a free graffiti workshop for teenagers, teaching them the art of stencil and managing to keep them away from the streets.
